About Us

about Us

Soon came the opportunities to serve. The First project of the club was to donate an Artificial limb to a 20 year old youth. Then there was a request for blood for a 8 year old boy who was to undergo surgery at Govt. General Hospital, Chennai. Five of our members travelled to Chennai and donated blood. Hardly 4 months after inauguration, the club hosted a District Assembly of Rotaractors which turned out to be one of the best organized assemblies and set the stage for Balaji Rajagopal becoming the District Rotaract Representative. The club has provided 6 Disrict leaders so far.

The club has given back several fold to its sponsoring organization, Rotary International, by being the source of TWO Rotary Clubs. 10 years after inception, a set of Rotaractors attained the upper age-limit and they went on to form Rotary Club of Karur Texcity. Another 10 years later, next set of Rotaractors went out to form Rotary Club of Karur Wings. This, perhaps, is unparellelled in the history of Rotary.

Service Above Self is Rotary’s foremost guiding principle. ARotaract club's service projects are designed to improve the quality of life at home and abroad. These projects often address today's most critical issues, such as violence, drug abuse, AIDS, hunger, the environment, and illiteracy.
Community Centers, Churches, Health Clubs, Universities, and continuing Education Programs are just a few community sources for potential club members. Also keep in mind that Youth Exchange students, Interact alumni, former Ambassadorial Scholars, Group Study Exchange alumni and RYLA participants may be excellent Rotaract candidates. Use your imagination to develop as wide a membership pool as possible.
The Rotaract Club Organization List should then be filled out listing all charter members who have committed to attending a minimum of 60 percent of the club's service and social activities. The completed list must be signed by the sponsoring Rotary Club President and the District Governor and sent with US$50 to Rl
The inaugural ceremony marks the official certification of the Rotaract club by Rotary International. The Rotary Club sponsor(s) may wish to plan and host an inaugural ceremony welcoming new Rotaractors as partners in Rotary service. Each ceremony is unique and has no set format. You might wish to invite district leaders such as the District Governor, District Rotaract Chair, and District Rotaract Representative to this celebration to help establish the presence of the new Rotaract club in the district.
Another special moment for your new Rotaract club will be the Installation of club officers. An official installation can be a ceremonious occasion or a gala at which the new club officers a officially recognized as the club’s leadership Installation for the year. After the inaugural year, the annual Installation ceremony is held to thank the past officers for their year of dedicated work ant to greet new officers for the year to come.
